Old Glory Interpretive Day Hike- Rossland Range Difficulty : Easy/Moderate Meet
your local guide at the Clansey’s coffee shop for pre trip preparation.
From here , it’s a short drive to the trailhead of this classic
day hike. We walk on well maintained trails that lead us to alpine meadows
and amazing wildflowers. We continue towards Mt Plewman and the King of
the range --- Old Glory Mountain. Learn about your environment as your
guide helps you discover this amazing landscape. Discover Rossland’s
rich history as one of the frontier mining towns and also a skier’s
and mountain biker’s paradise. All ages and abilities welcome. Picnic
With Altitude ! Add
a chilled white wine, cheese and luncheon to any of these days hikes to
create your own private summit picnic. Ridgewalker and Wildflowers – Bonnington Range Meet at the Dam inn pub in Taghum at 0800hr and prepare for the drive up to the mountain lodge. From our base lodge, we can access a variety of alpine meadows filled with wildflowers and fauna and the opportunities are endless. Here your guide will provide educational insight into the natural and cultural history of the West Kootenays and the many residents of the Selkirk mountains ( including Grizzly bears ). Travel at your own pace through this inspiring mountain landscape and relax… For

and the perfect summer escape : Selkirk Summit Experience Meet in New Denver at 9 a.m. and drive past the ghost town of Sandon to Zincton Pass, roadside ponds and rivers here are home to a multitude of beaver colonies lead us to our base for the weekend – timber framed lodge, decadent comfort and meals are previewed as we prep for our trip in the lodge. The campsite is neighbored by 3 alpine lakes fed by a waterfall from the glaciers atop the 1000 ft rock walls, which cradle our campsite in this massive bowl. Looking back down along our line of ascent views of the majestic peaks of the Kokanee ranges glow jagged , their peaks picking up the alpine glow of oranges and reds upon their gray surfaces as the sun sets and the stars appear. We
awake in our base camp at over 6000’ and get an early start(4 a.m.)
